Elsewhere, Macquarie analysts have upgraded their near term forecasts for bulk and base metals.
The firm said stronger demand and mark-to-market adjustments had driven 18 per cent, 22 per cent and 17 per cent upgrades to its 2021 calendar year iron-ore, manganese, and thermal coal forecasts, while its oil-price estimate for the year was up 30 per cent.
“We make material upgrades to our aluminium forecasts in the short and medium-term, with only nickel seeing cuts to the outlook, with our 2022-2025 forecasts falling 2-8 per cent,” Macquarie said.
