As some posters may remember I've made a few posts about how the deeper reasons behind electrifying the west are the drivers behind a lot of what's going on with battery metals.
This is a video about copper, with billionaire Robert Friedland. While it's not directly about nickel or cobalt, it is worth a watch especially 7 minutes in where he hints at the military industrial complex's interest in these things as well as the "food chain" as he describes it of what is needed.
