Probably best not to worry too much mate- the retailers will fight to get in the door when the news turns.
It could turn at any moment when we consider just how reliant the nickel market is on such a small region, Indonesia.
Indo government should have checked the posts coming out of Smurf village months ago- it is now worried it could lose territory thanks to Chinese companies taking up to 90% of the profits generated by the nickel ‘boom’.

Seeing as the money that has been staying in Indonesia isn’t enough we can only assume they will start to raise the price of mining. Either that or see its most profitable ( from a mining perspective ), region/s leave the nation.
In the interim we will likely see costs rise when upset locals start to disrupt mining operations.
What happens when a 3Mt market that’s only 2~% in surplus sees 100+ Kt disappear? The prices for that market rise & potentially rise very quickly as panic arrives.
Our SP last hit $2 on three news items. Not sure if I’m listing them in their correct order regarding time
but they came very close together in early 2022.
First- Nickel price panic due to the Ukraine conflict. Second- Major project status being awarded to ARL.
Third- Short covering on the LME.
Any kind of move to independence by a regional government in Indonesia qualifies as the first.
We still have the second ( plus DFS funding security, a revised PFS & clear pathway to potential CAPEX funding ).
The third will occur if shorts rise before any price panic ( nickel shorts are very low at the moment meaning they are more likely to increase than decrease at this point ).
I’d say get ready for a substantial rise for our SP over the next 12 mths, especially when we add DFS related news flow showing material advancement for the Goongarrie hub.
Then we have rising costs for miners in Canada while costs in Oz remain stable plus the government is offering some tax breaks. -1 for Canada, +2 for Oz?
