Good to see a lively to and fro with different considerations!

The difference between the two- Indonesia and Australia- is that Australia doesn’t just keep doing business the same way- we continually strive to improve conditions.
Australia has seen a 65% reduction in fatalities from 2003 to 2015. Call me lazy but I’m assuming that a lack of big news means that trend has continued, or at the very least our rates have not climbed:

Indonesia meanwhile appears to be headed the other way with more and more harm to all including locals, very sadly including a high number of children dying:

    https://news.mongabay.com/2021/02/indonesia-abandoned-mining-pit-death-toll-report/

    Then we have the workers:

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-19/indonesian-nickel-smelter-workers-allege-unsafe-conditions-/101975708

The problem is so big that plans to build a new Indonesian capital are being affected:

    https://www.eco-business.com/news/indonesias-plan-to-relocate-its-capital-hampered-by-exposed-mine-pits/

Taken as a whole, we see that all of Indonesian society is being affected once we remember the issues of toxic discharge etc damaging people’s ability to even feed themselves ( I may have posted this one last year but oh well ) :

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-12-20/women-lead-fight-against-nickel-miners-indonesia-wawonii-island/103188324

Then there’s deforestation, tailings dams issues- Indonesia has far higher rainfall & earthquake activity than Australia, in particular WA which has low rainfall & basically no seismic activity that is sufficient to cause concern.

Different minerals but it’s all the same issue:

    https://news.mongabay.com/2022/08/china-backed-mine-in-indonesia-poses-high-risk-world-bank-watchdog-warns/

All in all it appears that Indonesia has been doing a lot to keep these issues quiet but that can only work for so long. Ergo I change only conclude that our main nickel competitor will see costs rise faster than they will here in Australia.

Then of course we have Australia’s close & very real strategic ties to the U.S., EU & Japan etc.

All of that means our project becomes more advantaged as time goes on, from a financial, environmental, strategic & even human cost perspective. I firmly believe Ardea will have its day & we’ve all seen what happens when just a couple bits of good news hits our share piece- tripling in just days.

if positive factors are roads? All roads lead to Ardea.
