Once the company is out of the way, individuals will be more easily targeted, and they will turn on each other.

I've seen in the past ASIC take years to eventually successfully prosecute high level corporate crooks. They've been penalised and ordered to repay investors hundreds of millions of dollars. They can't, but they lose everything and spend the rest of their lives being scrutinised by bankruptcy supervisors.
It's basically a life sentence of suffering and humiliation.

Don't lose hope.
