The way I see it, the more short positions, (regardless of how they have affected the SP to date) the more buying pressure. 1.5% of issued capital is pretty strong pressure I would think. A positive announcement will cause some pretty serious pain for shorters and drastically exaggerate any upward price movement.

Any more thoughts on this???

Hi redram,

Keep the shorts situation in perspective.

Last week when i looked at PET shorts the percentage was 1.68% short.

So 562,541,694 shares issued (there was a change in the amount of shares on issue as well ) by 1.68% equals 9,450,700 PET shares short.

So the number of shorts has been reduced by 1,040,519 shares in about a week.
