Cockatoos are of course a curse in relation to fruit damage & other things, but when one becomes a pet it's a different story.
I think it would be around 30 years ago when we acquired this young cockie because the mother in law was living nearby at the time and the youngest daughter was at uni and they both figure in this story.

Can't remember the cockie's name. My memory is about as reliable as my stock predictions nowadays.
She used to run around the house some of the time, we would just leave the cage open.
When the daugbter came home she would rush to the door to greet her screeching her name.
But when the mother in law came she would race to the door to bite her ankles, which i have to admit I found hilarious. I don't know how she acquired this dislike for the MIL, it's not as if I trained her. Promise.
Unfortunately she had beak & feather disease and only lived for about 18 months or so. The cockie that is.
