Yeah, fair cop on a family level. I should have ignored their research and done far more of my own and put down my foot.
But I think my bad temper is justified on this, if you look at the bigger picture.
Any dog show or breeders who specify a dog breed should be of a body shape that is brachycephalic, for instance, should be charged with animal abuse. The poor dogs can't breathe properly! For their entire life! And then there's show rules that encourage hip dysplasia in breeds. And so much more. I I never knew about this crap till a few years ago.
The RSPCA needs to get some balls and charge the Royal Show dog breeding crowd with animal abuse. I'm serious. They are causing pain and death to tens of thousands of family pets around Australia and no one cares.
