    The evidence would suggest a 20 to 30% infection risk with a penetrating dog bite .
    So usually 3 days antibiotics.
    So , maybe not penetrating.
    They probably thought , ''do we trust grumpy, who lets face it , thinks our Goldy is an overpriced , pampered pooch , or get the dog checked ''.
    Maybe they remember old ''Bluey'' getting a .22 hollow point for his 10th birthday.
    Peace of mind , priceless.

    ps I was joking about the doggy spa and the pedicure.
    not the vet visit.
