I was aware of Peter Boonen's 'past' and he is far from squeeky clean. However, during the GFC, it has become very entrenched in my mind just how much MD's and other executives of companies actually do to protect their own interests above that of shareholders. Having been a shareholder of Babcock & Brown, Allco, and Compass Resources, I have seen it all. More recently, the takeover of United Minerals Resources by BHP. Now there is an example of Directors lining their own pockets at the expense of Shareholders if I have ever seen one. Some shareholders, who bought in at higher prices, were less than happy and accusations of all sorts have been made against the Directors. The shareholders feel cheated, and rightly so. However, they made some of us quite a lot of money.
In reading some of the links that BB has provided, there were of accusations of fraud by disgruntled shareholders. However, I could not find mention of whether or not the accusations were proven. If you are looking for a company with directors that are not in it for themselves, good luck.
Gympie, if you are unhappy about decisions made by the company, I suggest that you call Peter Boonen. Your money is at stake, and this is a highly speculative stock. You may feel better about his decision to terminate the ProVale patent, or worse. In any case, the more information you have, the more confident you may feel with holding or selling.
