HE former treasurer Peter Costello has savaged Tony Abbott's paid parental leave policy as a ''silly'' idea that would reduce the global competitiveness of Australian business and which contravened the Liberal philosophy of low taxes.
According to Liberal power broker Michael Kroger,Costello wants back in as he is a failure in the private sector and can not stand the thought of phony Tony as PM.
On whether he would endorse Mr Abbott, Mr Costello says: “oh not on economic matters’’.
If Peter Costello had become prime minister, he would not have wanted Tony Abbott as his deputy.
Costello believed Abbott's dismissive attitude to economic management made him unsuitable.
