Just a little reminder for those with very short memories:

- Peter Costello became Federal Tresurer BEFORE the China driven mining boom, and in his inital period as Treasuer he had to:

(a)contend with the SE Asian Financial Crisis;

(b)fix the the fiscal imbalance left by the previous incompetent Labor Government;

(c)provide funds for the Gun Buy back scheme

and later, provide funds for:

(a)the East Timor Intervention;

(b)the Afhgan and Iraqi wars;

(c)the Ansett Airline debacle;etc. etc.

By comparison, 'Our Wayne' has enjoyed a fiscal picnic.
