The former ALP govt in Queensland shafted the UCG industry over the overlapping leases issue, and then the fervent overreaction to the Cougar Claytons contamination . . . you know, where the water was still of drinking quality.
That's why we're still in pilot plant mode up there, while the highly-influential CSG industry continue on their merry way pretty much unhindered.
No wonder Bond will have his first GTL venture in the Middle Kingdom. Since the plant will be fabricated there, better to build it there as well and use that nice cheap labour. And enviro approvals quicker than Wyoming, no doubt.
He wasn't happy about only being allowed to drill in the Alaskan winter. The ice road costs $5M, and the sucker melts away every year.
