The Erez crossing was used daily by hundreds who worked in southern Israel.

The Arab areas of Jaffa and East Jerusalem are about half an hour (from memory).

People lump all the people who live in Gaza as "palestinians"
but there is a mix of Arab peoples, many Syrians and Iraqis, and of course Lebanese.

Others say the West bank is "occupied".
    just not true.
I have never seen an IDF person in West Bank
    no border checks.
There is lots of tourist traffic; I with others drove the Toyota in to have a look round Bethlehem.

Certainly the settlers are an angry group.
Break ins, thefts and stolen cars will see reprisals.
There are no Israeli police there either, the PA (pAuthority) is supposed to provide police for security
    but no show
    so it is lawless.
