I keep say - if MEL does not have the funds , or , wishes to keep its limited cash resources for O&G exploration, then , MEL itself can get funding for litigation from litigation funders.

a number of ASX listed companies have used litigation funders over the last few years.
I am not pushing the barrow of litigation funders. But they are an option for MEL

this case now has all the issues which litigation funders look for.

It's not really a "compensation" issue here. It is a "damages" claim !
the funding issue is not the only issue here in tackling this damages claim.
there is the big issues of how, and who to handle the claim, and run the action, and the experience of the management of the claim.

anyway - it is all moving in the right direction now.
