Good post. IMO Costello is likely working hard on his retirement plans as Howard denied him his opportunity of a go at the helm. I also think Costello is too smart to contemplate a return. It was Howard that led his party to a defeat and that tag cant be foisted on Peter Costello. IMO Peter Costello would not go again as he knows the chances of re-election after one term are minimal and he would not want the tag of defeat to be applied to him. Also in my opinion Peter Costello will make a worthy contribution in any area he chooses after politics.
