I dived on the Reefs outside Cairns in the 70`s and then again last week .
From my memory the reef looks pristine and probably better than 50 yrs ago .
Old guys told me the development of Sydney harbour took a toll on reefs etc but everything returned to normal in the decades to come.
"you cant make an omelette without breaking a few eggs"
