Yes he's a bit of a one-track ranter. He also has been openly aggro with James Rickard who has written interesting books on Currencies and gold. But at the end of the day, Rickard like Schiff lacks mental agility and has blind spots.
I like the Dollar Milkshake theory guy who at least openly admits he doesn't know precisely what will happen for sure, but he takes bets based on his best guess and he doesn't let personal views (about what he would personally like to be the case but is not) get in the way of making money. He has a breadth and depth of understanding these guys do not. He's particularly good on China/US relationships and the currency moves of those.
If someone is being arrogant it makes me think they are not able to take in new information or reevaluate. Both qualities are investing red flags in my world.
