    In the meantime, while the children march and the activists glue themselves to the roads and the keyboard warriors bash away furiously, following Bluescope's announcement the other day that it was spending a billion dollars on constructing a new steel mill in the US - instead of in Australia because of the power cost differential - here's another example of an energy-intensive manufacturing concern in Australia - aluminium producer and fabricator, Capral, which has existed for decades - becoming increasingly uncompetitive on a global scale and at real risk of ceasing to operate in the not-too-distant future based on trends in recent years:

    Capral has been operating in Australia since 1936 and currently employs 900 people.
    I'm not sure how many more indirect jobs in the economy are supported by dint of Capral's existence.

    (I stand by for the usual obfuscatory barrage of ,"Yeah, but look over there...")
