Hi abuman,
Bad press with Mputa is bad journalism, I agree, but no oil in place figures at Waraga, even if approximate, is pathetic management.
Should have had "P" figures a long time ago, and they should now be firmed up somewhat with the flow results.
Have you simply assumed that it is two completely separate reservoir at all zones? We're not in the business where we can release numbers base on assumptions. I believe there was still some belief that the lower (stratigraphic) components may still be connected (operative word is may!).
Why release numbers when you can wait a month, flow test a well some 19km away with similar geo structure/make up, then have more data and confidence to release a more knowledgeable estimate? They have been hammered for possible Chinguetti downgrade, don't you think SP is feeling a bit sensitive towards a possible repeat where he release some rough numbers, Mputa flow test comes in and affects his estimates (downwards), and he had to then go back to the market and revise his Waraga numbers? It would not only kill off any bit of confidence the market has left for Hardman, it would also destroy SP's public confidence and trust. It's not too late to jump up and down if we don't get any numbers 3-4 weeks after Mputa test.
