Good to see some common sense coming back into this debate. I agree with Abeaty, let HDR get on with it and stop harassing them.
There are a few balls in the air at the moment (Mputa flows, Guyane farmout, Suriname offshore blocks) and having Simon running off at the mouth prematurely can only risk getting more egg on his face. I agree the basement announcement could have been better explained, but the press would probably have misinterpreted it no matter how clearly it was spelt out.
Regarding the Suriname blocks, if Hardman is successful in getting the blocks it wants (and I suspect they will be), I would assume any potential Guyane farmin partners would want to farmin to the Suriname blocks as well. This may be why we haven't heard anything on Guyane, negotiations may need to wait for the Suriname bid to be concluded.
Like Abeaty, my buy gland is twitching and I am having to hold myself back from jumping in until we get some Mputa flow results.
