Petrobras, Brazils state-controlled oil company, is in talks to borrow US$10 billion from Chinas development bank to fund new investments, O Estado de S. Paulo reported on Sunday, citing one person familiar with the negotiations.
Petrobras took on a previous US$10 billion from the Chinese bank in 2009, in a transaction that linked repayments to oil shipments to China, Estado said.
The company is expected to announce the loan as early as April 15, when Chinese President Hu Jintao visits the country, Estado added. -- Reuters
