Perhaps Sir James Gobbo should consider same - over HIS unfair dismissal as Victorian Governor.
Another Victorian Governor before that was forced to resign by a Labor Government too - a long time ago. Because he'd accepted contra air tickets offered as some special deal to him, by a certain person from a certain airline, now extinct.
A friend of ours was closely involved in this sad saga - and he committed suicide over the whole affair. The Governor and his wife were hugely embarrassed and appalled, having innocently accepted what they thought was an airline promoting discounted gift. A nicer bloke you would never get to meet than this airline exec! Just trying to drum up business - when new to the job.
The whole thing a major headlines scandal at the time. And a decent Governor made to look disreputable - though he, (perhaps foolishly) innocently accepted what he thought was a harmless advertising gift/perk.
So, Mr. Bracks - stop your whining. Such has happened before - and both instances involved a Labor Victorian State Government. Getting rid of a Liberal appointed State Governor, before their tenures ended. A double dose of Labor spite.
