And because the markets are made up of so many moving pieces, company management cannot be focused on the share price. Their job is to make the business perform as well as they can to provide the best profitability and cash flow. If they do that, then the share price will over time reflect that performance. They absolutely should not be doing particular things to try and coax the share price higher. Extracting the most value out of the businesses they run is all they should be focused on, as they cannot in any real way control the share price.
