Here is the real source of hydrocarbons shown on Beach's graphic. They are mainly coming from the Patchawarra formation, even to the edges of the Cooper Basin. Therefore, if deeps of the basin would be drilled for tight and shale gas and oil, the Patchawarra formation has to be drilled and fracked. But it is very hard in the Nappamerri Trough while Patchawarra Trough is much more convenient in many aspects although the thickness of Patchawarra formation is around 200m in Patchawarra Trough as opposed to 900m in Nappamerri trough.
