This does happen but depends on the treatment modality. If the doctors are well informed, then they can offer it to the patient. The process of transferring the patient over wouldn't be difficult. I think it is a combination of - some consultant doctors not being aware of the trial, patients not willing to try (because it is so new) and the fact that the condition itself is pretty rare.
