A YEAR since the catastrophic collapse of the MFS financial services empire, the company's elusive co-founder Phil Adams is forging a lucrative career on the public-speaking circuit in Dubai.
And to add insult to shareholders left with nothing but worthless paper from their investment, Mr Adams is touting himself as a business genius who built a $6 billion Australian company from scratch.
At its peak, the MFS group had a market capitalisation of close to $4 billion.
But Mr Adams fell short of explaining to the hotel industry delegates attending the seminars he addressed how MFS (now known as Octaviar) lost 90 per cent of its share value in a single day this time last year.
He also did not explain how the company remained embroiled in bitter recriminations as creditors waited on the paltry few cents in the dollar they could expect to recover from Octaviar's cold ashes.
