Philemon Yang received the High Commissioner of Australia and the U.S. ambassador to Cameroon 01/11/2010
Two diplomats were last Friday to honor "the star building" where we talked about diplomacy and cooperation.
Cameroon and Australia share strong ties in particular because of their common membership in the Commonwealth. It is a fact. A statement made last Friday by Prime Minister Head of Government, Philemon Yang during an audience granted to the High Commissioner of Australia in Cameroon, with residence in Nigeria, Ian McConville.
The two men are indeed back on the ties of cooperation between the two countries, with, among others, the development of the mining sector. In this regard, Ian McConville noted that two companies in this sector were already installed in Cameroon while several Australian NGOs continue their implantation in Yaounde.
A little later the same day, Philemon Yang also received the Ambassador of the United States in Cameroon, Robert P. Jackson. The latter was admitted to the media at the end of his meeting with the PM that their main focus has been strengthening the cooperation between Cameroon and the USA, especially in the areas safe and sanitary. Thus, Robert P. Jackson announced that U.S. assistance will increase "dramatically, up 200% this year in the field of public health."
This will essentially help to fight against HIV / AIDS and cholera, the diplomat said. But it will also promote a health system responsive to the needs of the entire population.
