Several years ago Iran allowed the PKK to set up a drugs smuggling base within it's borders to destabilise Turkey and in return for intelligence information on both Turkey and the PDKI (Kurdish rebels pursuing a rebellion within Iran.)
Iran also redistributed some hundreds of night vision glasses (foolishly provided by the UK to fight drug smuggling) to Hezbollah.
