Its clear they are always preparing for war with China and would take the opportunity the first moment that they ever believed that the pros and cons worked out in their favour. From the US support of the KMT, to wars in Korea, Vietnam, to the the ongoing support of Japan, and Taiwan, to the establishment of South Korea, the US has maintained an agressive posture with China, like in a positional chess game, where they are only waiting for a clear enough vision that by moving first they will come out on top. The US has long sighted strategic vision when it comes to foreign policy, believe it or not, and they rarely forget their mark. How long they waited before finally striking Gadaffi, how long they have nurtured their agression towards Iran, North Korea, Russia, etc, etc, etc
