Panda7, not sure why so much shorting. Could be that the strong volatility attracts traders that shift between long and short positions. However, that is speculation rather than knowledge on my behalf.
One thing I do know is that Tesla's car batteries contain a lot of nickel. If electric cars sales start increasing fast going forward, then we will see a shortage of nickel all other things equal.
