The non-Chinese auto makers are clutching at straws. They have been caught sleeping and probably know there will be no profits for a long time trying to compete with EVs against Chinese EVs and Tesla.
From everything I have read, hydrogen powered vehicles are far less efficient than battery EVs if using green electricity to produce the hydrogen.
There is also the problem that there is no where near enough green hydrogen to produce green ammonia to replace fossil fuel derived ammonia.
So even if the efficiency problem was solved, there won't be enough green hydrogen - and hydrogen derived from gas or coal doesn't help. Might as well burn petrol and diesel.
