My mistake on the spodumene price! The chart I was looking at in the article on the lithium price was a chart of the LTR sp. Was looking on my phone. Not the biggest of screens.
Those costs you gave would probably not be AISC? From the AFR article, "Pilbara Minerals can mine, refine, insure and deliver a tonne of spodumene to a customer for $US658 a tonne".
So at $870 (is that USD that you gave?), there is still a healthy margin but nothing like last year. The sp hasn't been impacted that much so the PLS sp either wasn't factoring in the higher prices last year or are they were selling below the higher 2022 and early 2023 spot prices and this year might be selling part production above spot?
I don't follow PLS so just guessing on the above. Anyone that follows PLS might be able to fill me in on that.
CXO not looking good if those costs are not all inclusive.
