    Yep, pretty standard in a takeover I'd say. Told them the same.

    For me the dividend yield and the short, medium and longterm value is just too good to share. This is a REAL oil company, unlike the exploration biased wannabees like COE.

    I also want a share in the ongoing value creation that the directors (who COE will be discarding) will create if left alone.

    The future for oil imho is mostly in squeezing more out of old fields. For that you need solid technical leadership like that offered by proven specialist managers like McGann - not easily replaced.

    In contrast what have the oil explorer weeds of the ASX ever delivered shareholders? An exceedingly rare discovery, then typically a fraction of the predrill hype, with a success ratio much lower than the industry 10%. I am tired of the typical hypester explorer, (temporarily) cashed up or not. I am nearly out of COE hoping never to return. Burnt billions, hardly returned a cent to shareholders.
