I would like to add that although high skin factors are generally the result of near wellbore formation damage, there is also a risk of creating an additional skin factor due to liquid condensate dropout in the near wellbore region (condensate bank zone around a well). The condensate bank will choke the gas flow rate and therefore it is important to avoid large drawdown differential pressure when flow testing or producing from a well.
The effect of high skin factor due to formation damage may be removed by hydraulic fracture treatment or via Stimgun/Stimtube propellant guns.
