In M-2 they intersected an unexpected 163m thick shale body, and that was apparently a complete surprise at the time. Maybe you were not following the IVZ operations at that time?
M-2 UA in comparison with M-1, was definitely not thin cyclical shale/sands. They were expecting from the seismic DHI's thicker gas bearing sands in the Upper Angwa in M-2, but when the samples were taken and after provisional log interpretation was performed, they only found 13.9m net pay.
