This isn't just overseas companies - plenty of Australian companies are just as bad.
Hard to do the numbers as the data is nicely fragmented but last time I tried I came up with a figure that about 600 companies on the ASX were worth more (current market cap + historical dividends) than the capital they had raised.
Which is remarkably poor result. Given this had survivor bias as well.
