Data is data. How you choose to interpret it is up to you.

The bottom line is that Julia Gillard's performance as PM has left a lot to be desired. A fairly hostile media has made sure we know all about that & then some while its been Tony Abbott's all-consuming focus.

In other words mostly bad news is already in for Gillard so that many people have become 'Gillard Haters' - aka John Howard in his early years as PM. On the horizon though is the emerging possibility of global recovery from the GFC, a budget surplus, progress on infrastructure intiatives, delivery of tax cuts, bedding down of the MRRT & CT/ETS ...

Despite Gillard's woes Australians have not fallen in love with Abbott & those sychophantic to his cause would do well to seek to understand as to why that is so. How will he get on if Gillard starts to bask in a recovering economic glow?

Attempting to discredit, ignore & misinterpret the data is not addressing the issues that Abbott must confront to turn his personal polling around. Unless Abbott addresses our future he could run the risk of being dismissed by voters as a headless chook in budgie smugglers running around screaming about the sky falling down.
