If the supply is slightly tenuous, maybe the beginnings of a bidding war??? See below:
March 18 (Bloomberg) -- India, the worlds biggest potash importer, will offer a higher price than China for overseas purchases of the fertilizer to ensure supplies, two government officials said yesterday. Buyers including Indian Potash Ltd. will offer a maximum $370 a metric ton for the year starting April 1 to sellers such as International Potash Co., 5.7 percent more than the price agreed by China for its 2010 purchases, said the officials, who didnt want to be identified before the information is made public. The new prices is lower than that agreed between the company and Russias antimonopoly service and an anti crisis measure to support agriculture, the company said in an e-mailed statement.
