many junior explorers will do that, find shit and then sell it because they are explorers not mining companies and then some will cap raise and take the project on. Both options have positives and negatives in the short or long term.
Why wouldn’t you chase lithium if it’s hot? No point going for something that has no demand in the market you wouldn’t bother and leave it there until it’s in high demand and right now is the perfect opportunity to try and find something.
