Phosphogypsum is used in Europe in dry walls and ready mixed mortas since forty years at least. Normally mixed with natural gypsum 1:2. Plasterboard(dry walls) and ready mixed mortars are normally extended by finely ground limestone, so the total amount of gypsum in the formulations is about 50% and the maxiumum content of Phosphogypsum below 17%. The radioactive emissions from building materials using phosphogypsum derived from phosphorites therefore is in the range of clay bricks, fireclay, pumice, and a variety of natural stones and the number is 0,4 - 0,6(Leningrad inequation).

There have never been complaints about enhanced radioactivity in dwellings made from materials of that kind when considering emissions from
Potassium 40, Radium 226 and Thorium 232 expressed in Bq/kg using the well knowm Leningrad inequation:

    aK :4810) + (aRa :370) + (aTh :259) < or = 1

This Leningrad model assumes, that the exposure to radiation of an dweller should not exceed 1,5 mSv/a, if the person lingers in a room made from the considered material alone, with walls of unlimited thickness and with no windows and doors. If the sum of the radiation emitted from the considered radio nuklides is below 1 it is assumed that the dose equivalent rate by gamma-radiation does not succeed 1,5 mSv/a!
To blame materials of that kind is rubbish, scientists in Malaysia will know about these numbers.
