My problem with the peaceniks of this world is that they assume that the opponents are also peace loving as they are and that the conflict is due entirly to the leaders of the peaceniks countries. The sad fact is that some leaders are not peace loving and hunger for power.
I would be happier if the demonstrators had placards demanding that Saddam disarm and comply with UN resolutions to avoid war, as well as demanding a peaceful solution from Bush & Co. I find it strange that those sentiments were not expressed in the demonstrations and wonder where the organizers of the demonstrations were coming from.
