Interesting about Altona. Still its not even at bank feasibility stage is it? Rentech FT technology hasn't been used at this scale either. There's lots of things still to do. No guarantees yet.

Don't get me wrong some CTL will be done but I believe a number of conditions are required :- first high oil prices should be sustained for a while yet; second the CO2 costs associated with these projects need to be known in advance; third some certainty on the capacity and cost of diesel in the region needs to be had - India are building big refineries to export petroleum; Singapore is expanding. If there's any risk of overcapacity in the future these low-cost centres will have a massive edge over CTL which will make it less attractive. These issues are somewhat linked to the global oil price but also regional demand/supply projections.
