Why would they give up their free conferences at luxury locations?Oh, but wait, that's illegal now. Can't even get a free pen these days. Just a cup of coffee, apparently. Oh well, it was a lovely perk whilst it lasted for decades.
Poor docs, eventually they blew the whistle on their own gravy train. Yes, that would have been a great headline but alas, it was the regulators and consumer groups that finally overcame the powerful pharma lobby. Doc's took all the bribes for decades, hush, hush.
So, no, don't look for too hard for these ultruistuc docs. Heindlicker was the epitomy of the value system of some of the worst offenders. Lots of blood on his hands, and counting. He was the 1 in the 9-1 ODAC.
