It’s a common case of lying so much that one starts believing in one’s own lies. It’s self deception of the worst kind. Unfortunately it is what plaques our society these days. People use these platforms to willingly propagate lies.

After I retired from full time work, I did some content moderation, basically checking type, casual, contract work for a short period of time for a listed Sydney based company for fun and out of curiosity. Then I learnt to discern how full of lies some posters are. Look at our world and you know that’s why we have so many social and political problems. It’s a lot harder than it used to these days, with the proliferation of such posts, to take people to court for libel.

The antidote is to exercise our discernment and use our conscience to call out these lies and actively refuse to follow the liars.
