P values are only one consideration.
And if you looked at 20 trials, and used p of 0.05 as an indicator of significance, statistically one trial would falsely show significance.
So if you look back at a trial, and look at 20 subgroups, you'll find one with significance that actually doesn't have significance. But you can tell the shareholders hey, it works in 60yr olds with a CRP of 3-5 that are named Bob. For example.
But now you need to run that experiment.
