Japan has avoided problems with islam by an even harsher immigration regime thanj Australia's. They haven't accepted any refugees from anywhere in the world for many decades. No immigrants equals no problems. Don't forget there are Korean residents in Japan who have been there for several centuries and still aren't considered citizens.
