I have noticed several companies that are domiciled in Asia, listing on our ASX. They open a sales office in Australia with the main operations overseas. You can spot these by looking at the companies website (have a look at FFG) and by reviewing the directors.

I believe that if these companies were so successful, they would list on their own exchange. My own experience has taught me (e.g NVU) that these are primarily pump and dump companies with very little substance.

While they should be subject to the same ASX listing rules, having the directors located overseas should be seen as a riskier investment. I believe the directors would be beyond the reach of ASIC, particularly during these Covid times.

My preference when investing in companies listed on the ASX, is that the main operations and management are located in Australia. Else I might as well be investing on a foreign exchange.

Of course, all my own opinion. DYOR.
