I’m a tad confused by this paper. If anyone else has interpreted it differently please let me know.

These two sections seem to suggest that lower FTO levels are actually linked to BETTER prognosis and survival rates within ccRCC, and higher levels with WORSE prognosis.
This would seem to contradict what I thought would be the case, and indeed the outcome of the preclinical ccRCC FTO directed trial that we’re waiting on results from.
Does anyone have any commentary on whether I’ve read this study correctly, and the implications for our preclinical FTO ccRCC trial?
Also happy to note that is only one paper, among a number I would imagine on the topic of m6a demethylases and ccRCC.
Looking forward to hearing what others thoughts are on this.
