I’ll add that this section below appears to provide somewhat conflicting conclusions:
They note that their results are inline with Xiao et al. (As IndexInvestor has pointed out) in that high FTO expression in ccRCC correlates with increased tumor severity and poor survival - however they also noter that Zhuang et.al. found that FTO knockdown in ccRCC cells seemed to reduce apoptosis.
I’m not quite sure how their results are in line with Xiao et. al., as per the sections posted in my first comment.
If anyone can provide a better analysis/some clarification I’d really appreciate it!
